This DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT AND POLICY (Policy) governs your use of CLPL’s website(s). For purposes of this document, “you” shall mean you, and “our” or “we” shall mean CLPL and/or its affiliates. By accessing CLPL website(s) you explicitly agree you have read this Policy, and agree to be governed by its content.

What kinds of information do we collect?  Depending on which Services you use, we collect different kinds of information from or about you, which may include the following:

  1. Things you do and information you provide.  We collect the content and other information you provide when you use our Services, including when you sign up to receive newsletters and content updates, use our Interactive Areas, enter contests and free giveaways, or respond to our polls.  This can include information in or about content you provide, such as your name, address, phone number, location, and/or the date or location from which you accessed our website and/or a content file was created. We also collect information about how you use our Services, such as the types of content you view or engage with and the frequency and duration of your activities.
  2. Interactive Service Connections.  We collect information about the people and/or groups you may communicate with using our Interactive Services, including, but not limited to third party vendors and their services, made available through our advertising opportunities, external/internal links and applications, and message boards.
  3. Information about payments, contest entries, and/or free giveaways.   If you use our website services for purchases or financial transactions (like when you make a purchase on our website or in a game, or directly from our applications), we collect information about the purchase or transaction. This includes your payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information, and other account and authentication information, as well as billing, shipping and contact details. If you enter our contests and giveaways we also collect information regarding shipping, including contact details and information we are legally required to collect by the IRS.

Device information.  We collect information from or about the computers, phones, or other devices where you install or access our Services, including any of our mobile applications, depending on the permissions you’ve granted. We may associate the information we collect from your different devices, which helps us provide consistent Services across your devices. Here are some examples of the device information we collect:

This includes information about the websites and apps you visit using links from our website(s), your use of our Services on those websites and apps, as well as information the developer or publisher of the app or website provides to you or us.
  6. Information from third-party collaborators.  We receive information about you and your activities on and off CLPL from third-party partners, such as information from a partner when we jointly offer services or from an advertiser about your experiences or interactions with them.
  7. CLPL companies and branded portals (Affiliates). We receive information about you from companies and branded portals that are owned or operated by CLPL, in accordance with their terms and policies.

How do we use this information? We use all of the information we collect to help us customize and provide Services and support to you in the following manners:

  1. Provide, improve and develop Services.  Use information to personalize content by understanding how you use and interact with our Services.  We use location information to tailor our Services for you, like helping you find resources and offers in your area.
  2. Survey and Research.  We conduct polls/surveys and research to develop, test, and analyze features to evaluate and improve products and services, develop new products or features, and conduct audits and troubleshooting activities.
  3. Communication.  We use your information to send you marketing communications, including newsletters and updates about our Services and products; policies, terms and conditions updates; and collaborators and partners. How is this information stored and shared? Information we collect from you is stored on a secure server, and protected by measures that are in accordance with industry standards.  Further, with the exception of the following circumstances, CLPL does not share your information with third parties:

  1. Interactive Areas.  When you use our interactive areas, such as message boards, anyone who accesses our website(s) has access to the information you provide, which becomes Public Information.  Public Information is any information you share with a public audience, such as content you share on a CLPL’s website(s) or another public forum. Public information is available to anyone on or off our Services and can be seen or accessed through online search engines, APIs, and offline media, such as on TV. In most cases, Public Information can be downloaded or re-shared with others on and off our Services.
  2. Apps, websites and third-party integrations on or using our Services. When you use third-party apps, websites or other services that use, link from, or are integrated with, our Services, they may receive information about you.
  3. CLPL companies and affiliates.  We may share information we have about you within the family of companies that are part of CLPL, including, but not limited to, if the ownership or control of all or part of our Services or their assets changes. In such event, we may transfer your information to the new owner.
  4. Sharing With Third-Party Collaborators (Partners) and Advertisers.  We work with third party companies and collaborators who help us provide and improve our Services or who use advertising or related products.  In the case of third-party partners and/or advertisers, we may share measurement and analytics Services in a non-personally identifiable format, which excludes name or email address that can by itself be used to contact you or identifies who you are unless you give us permission. We may provide these partners with information about the reach and effectiveness of their advertising without providing information that personally identifies you, or if we have aggregated the information so that it does not personally identify you. This may include responding to legal requests from jurisdictions outside of the United States where we have a good faith belief that the response is required by law in that jurisdiction, affects users in that jurisdiction, and is consistent with internationally recognized standards.
